REUNION FOLLOW-UP DINNER

We had a fun evening at our reunion dinner. The team surprised Chris (our leader) and dressed up in a variety of outfits that were related to our trip. The fellowship was refreshing and everyone enjoyed the the 18 minutes slide show set to music.

FAREWELL UNTIL SEPTEMBER!

We leave Saturday morning to head back home. The drivers will arrive home on Sunday afternoon and the flyers will arrive back home on Saturday evening. As the sun sets on this journey together, we are thankful for this opportunity to serve our Lord.

WASHING THE FEET OF THE LONG TERM SERVANTS

We were blessed to have Gary lead us in a foot-washing ceremony for Stan & Jennie. They are such a blessing that we felt this was a great thing to do for them. They have teams coming in each week and very little down time. It is a huge commitment and we are thankful for them.

CAMP GULFSIDE STAFF

Stan & Jennie Lowrey are the camp organizers and they did a GREAT job. It was amazing to see how well things are running here at the camp. We are anxious to be able to pray for them in the upcoming months!
Lillian is one of the case managers who talks with the applicants and works with them to get assistance and organize the application process. She is great and has sacrificed much to be here the last 2 years.

Cheryl is also one of the case managers and welcomes us with open arms each time we come!

BACK TO WENDY'S

The crew that went to Wendy's were so touched by her need for help that we had three people go back today to help her get organized and fix a few things.

When they unloaded the truck yesterday, they only had time to unload everything and set it right in Wendy's living room and bedroom. It was very disorganized and overwhelming.
Now that Wendy has a trailer, her daughter Heidi is able to live with her.
Chris fixed her kitchen sink and helped remove the broken dishwasher.
The ladies were able to accomplish so much today! When they left things were coming together very well and Wendy's living room was set up and ready to go. These women had a great day of bonding with Wendy.

INSULATION

DRYWALL, DRYWALL, AND MORE DRYWALL

This crew drywalled ceilings for 2 days for the Philips family.

It was hard work and eventually Connie took a quick break.

SOMETIMES WE FIND OURSELVES IN TIGHT SPOTS!

SAYING GOOD-BYE TO NEIL

Ray and Colley finished up the painting in Neil's house today. We presented him with a neat little sign from his friends at Servants. Everyone on the team signed it and wrote a little message. We also gave him a Servants T-shirt and New Testament Bible.

EATING IS IMPORTANT

We surprised Barry & Terri with a "Best Cooks" signs for the kitchen!
Lunch break is always a fun time

Barry & Terri made a special batch of banana pudding dessert just for Colley!

FRIENDLY CARDS AT NIGHT

Henry and Chloe love to play 5 Crowns in the evening.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN

John,
Sending you a special wish from Mississippi to wish you a very Happy Birthday. Thank you for your love and support in my mission here. See you Saturday.
Love, Chris
P.S. The whole team says Happy Birthday to you!

STARTING A NEW JOB

The team started a new job today hanging drywall. Bill provided the lunch time dancing entertainment.

TO CITYVIEW COMMUNITY CHURCH

To Cityview Community Church,
On this Servants trip, I served as Team Leader, and I just wanted all the folks at home to know that everyone on our team "measured up"... with one exception...Bernell, (pictured below) for obvious reasons. Seriously, I am honoured to have served with this great bunch of people.
Thanks for your prayers, God has truly been glorified on this trip. See you all Sunday!
Chris

A "GOD" DAY FOR MANY

We helped a woman named Wendy move today. This was actually an extra project for us that was posted on the board here at the camp. The camp didn't help her build her home, however they occasionally get calls for generic help and they post it for the teams. Wendy called for help to move her furniture from her FEMA trailer and a storage shed into her new 3 bedroom trailer. Dave, Rox, Terri & Connie volunteered to help and the Lord took over from there. Dave said he knows the entire reason God called him on this trip to Mississippi was to witness to Wendy today.

Above is Connie standing in front of the trailer Wendy has lived in for 2-1/2 years. Today she moved into her new trailer. It was a joy for the team members who helped and if you know Dave, Rox, Terri or Connie, I suggest you ask them to share how the Lord worked through them today.

NEIL - THE HOMEOWNER

Neil joined us and helped again today. It was really neat to have our homeowner with us all day. We only have a few more small details to finish up on Thursday, therefore only a couple of us will be going back to Neil's tomorrow. We said our good-byes a special prayer for him and his home, lots of hugs, and even a few tears. God sends us into peoples lives for a reason and we were delighted that Neil said to call him next time we were in town!

HENRY? HENRY? ARE YOU OK??

Oh my ... Henry!! Are you OK? Did you hurt the sink?

HI EVERYONE

As always, I'm having a grand time and I look forward to waking up each day to embark on a new day of hard work. I've painted, assembled closet shelves, built window sills, and a few misc. things, including the team outhouse we posted yesterday. hee-hee! I learn something new on every trip. I've enjoyed working with my brother-in-law, Ray, on this trip. It's always nice to serve God and get closer to family at the same time. :-) Love and miss you all and I can't wait to get back and celebrate Holy Week with my church family!

HEY JON & STEVE

Hi Jon & Steve,
We're having a great time down here in Mississippi. We're getting a lot of work done. I'm thinking of you both and I'll see you in a few days.
Love you!

I will be home soon and look forward to telling you all about the people we've helped! Be home soon!
Love ya,
Mommy

HI SAM & BEN

THE RISING OF THE OUTHOUSE

Imagine our surprise as the team showed up for our greatly anticipated first day of work to discover the first project was to build an outhouse! Yes, you heard me right an OUTHOUSE! Chris and Colley, being the willing servants they are, volunteered for the task.
Chris jumped right in and found the perfect seat! Nice and comfy!
Using her problem solving skills, she then determined it was best to raise the seat slightly for our long term comfort.
Colley watched in amazement as her partner motivated her to put on her thinking cap as well and provide a little privacy.
Then we added a finishing touch - the door!!!Finally our project is finished! All we needed was a volunteer to give it a test run!

Hey, Chris .... we forgot the toilet paper dispenser!!!
